The time has come for nonprofit organizations to become engaged in the democratic process in every community in America.
The V3 Campaign will give you the tools you need to legally engage candidates in your city and state to determine their plans for the nonprofit sector. Learn how the candidates plan to support the causes and strengthen the organizations that are important to you.
The V3 Campaign endorses four proven strategies to achieve these goals:
1. Ask the Questions
Submit the V3 Questions to EVERY registered candidate. Ask about their history of nonprofit involvement and detailed plans for how they will strengthen, support, and partner with the nonprofit sector if elected. Download the V3 Questions.
2. Host a Candidate Forum
Invite EVERY registered candidate to an event and give them equal opportunity to discuss how they would strengthen, support, and partner with the nonprofit sector.
3. Bird-Dog the Candidates
Solicit comments from candidates at public events and film their responses. See examples of bird-dogging from the 2008 Presidential Primary in New Hampshire here and here.
4. Spread the Word
Email colleagues, friends, and neighbors about the V3 Campaign to elevate the role of nonprofits in the election conversation. Sign up to receive updates about candidates’ responses concerning how they would partner with and strengthen the nonprofit sector.
